How it started
I started to realise my interest in User Experience Design but didn’t have available resources to learn the principles. I wasn’t going to get a job as a designer with no experience, or even an internship. I had to then do the Google UX Design Certificiate, which taught me a lot but it was not nearly as much fun as I had in my other experiences, such as other student clubs or university group work. In addition to that, it is not for free.
I realized that there was a potential gap , and started talking to friends & family. I realized that there were many interested in UX & UI Design at our university, the Technical University of Munich. But noone had an idea where to start.
So I decided to create a student club, that would allow students to learn the principles of UX design, provide them with an opportunity to complete real world projects, present them to fellow students, the clients and create an eco-system of UX/UI Enthusiasts.
I then gathered a group of people who were interested in creating a student club together, and we had a trial run of 1 semester between November 2023 – March 2024. In that period, I learned so much about how to run a club, how to talk to the team members, how to teach UX & UI and where my strengths and weaknesses are.
In the following semesters, we built a core team of leads, that would be responsible for their own department: UX Design Leads, Legal Lead and I, the president.

We then recruited 20 people, which was incredible, specially considering we had more than 40 applicants, and ended up successfully completing 6 projects with real project partners.
Where we are
In the previous semester, October 2024 – March 2025, we were a total of 35 active members and completed 7 projects.
I am extremely proud of the team and grateful for TUdesign.
